HARDCORE MUSIC
popshit or small culture???

I guess you know what HC is. Hardcore. Not porno, it's music. And it's fucking great music too.
There are two ways to like Hardcore, the "record-store-way" and the "order-in-person-way". Which way do we like it? Is it cool to buy a record in the store? No, I REALLY don't think so... Is it cool to order the shit from a member of the band, or a very small distribution label?? Oh yes, it is...

In all kinds of music there is a soul. A personality, which disappears too easy in a recordstore. This personality is thrown aside by the greedy owners, who only do this for prophit. The record stands there with thousands of other records, and some band's attitude just dies. It's fucking bad. And boring.

So, do us all a favour, buy records from these small distribution labels all around the planet. Keep up the hardcore-scene's soul, and order in person from a member of the band. Just do it.

We all want it the way it is now, don't we? You get a letter from the guy you ordered from, with the article you ordered, but also a whole bloody bunch of flyers about zines, compilation tapes, CD's, demos and other mysterious things, which he/she was told to spread for the band/fanzinewriter. Do we want an end of all this? I don't.

The Swedish hardcore scene is turning, from a small culture to a fucking popshit disaster. Slow, but it still is. Maybe we have the trendy people to blame for this. Hardcore is a trend, that's a fact. It became a trend, when Refused made their hit "Rather Be Dead" and stepped into the flashlight. Abhinanda followed a bit after them, and HC became a trend. I hope it won't go on....OK, so it maybe brought many people in, and that's good, but the ones who just listen to HC cuz it's cool can fuck off. And I mean it.

Closing comment: Hardcore bands should be non-prophit. Don't play music as a job, there are other things to do. More important things. I know you hate me for this, but after all...I wrote this article mainly to provoke you....haha...
