summer nyc

Well, here goes a summer in NYC......Hot Hot Humid yucky Hot!......My two darling Iguanas just got shipped here from Texas and they are Loving it...Summer in NYC is crowded and annoying as usual...and lots of scantly clothed people....Who's mothers let these people out of thier houses....Ohhh the shame! Summer is also the time of birthdays my birthday....Good thing i already got my gift its a super duper new Record player from my super duper boyfriend....Damn those things are expensive nowadays......Age....I dont think im getting old yet....sometimes it just feels that way.....like when all the bands you used to dig are now having reunion tours and get togethers....and best of albums coming out.....The new record player is sparking new record purchases....Ahhh...the joys of cheap record buying benges....especially those 99 cent bins....talk about finding some great stuff.....Elvis Costello, the cars, David Bowie...You cant buy CD's that cheap.....I think one of the best things about records is that snap crackle pop of the record needle on the records.....clarity is important and all...but, sometimes just sometimes i think thats the way that some music was meant to be heard....record style.....and everything just seems cooler on record....Compare a Crass Cd to a Crass Record....whats better? Why of course the Record its bigger and that big Crass symbol just looks cooler on the cover. Plus on top of those things you get all those really kewl inserts.....try fitting all that kewl stuff from the Christ the Album, into a CD it just wont happen...and then the best part of all.....reading all those little secret messages toward the center of the record....some people dont even know they are there.....try reading one...someday....take for instance Husker Du "metal circus" side A says "that old stainless charity, if you could see me now shirley" something totally un understandible i have no idea what it means but, its entertaining none the less......who says PUNK rock dosent promote Literacy?
