4. 7 Year Bitch- Gato Negro

You're at a friends house, jammin to loud fast music on the porch. Skating around on half-broken boards, practicing guitar riffs, or just hanging out. Someone changes the CD from The Ramones suddenly to, whats this, a GIRL band? "Awwww hell get this Courteny Love shit off" people start to whine, until the pace speeds up, the volume cranks up, and soon everyones screaming along with none other than 7 Year Bitch. "Why havent we heard this sooner?" people ask.

If you think all female singers are the same, think again. This isn't Luscious Jackson, Poe, or Jewel........These chics can rock harder than most male grunge bands, scream punk lyrics with the strength of Johnny Rotten, but can actually play their instruments. On their second album, Gato Negro, the all woman quartet blasts through short, exhilerating tracks that make Hole sound like Bethoven.

If you like L7 or any rockin stuff like that, this is a must-hear. For Fans- you may notice that just a few minutes through the dumb-blonde romantic movie 'Mad Love" which stars Drew Barrymore and Chris O'donnel, we find our passionate angst-bearers in the midst of a vibrating-venue during a 7 Year Bitch concert. The stage can barely hold lead-singer Selene Vigil, who isn't afraid of anything......accecpt boredom.
